In March of 2009, Target launched its first of many collaborations with high-end fashion designers. The idea was to make cutting-edge fashion more accessible to the average fashion-obsessed gal (e.g. yours truly). The first designer to create a collection for Target was Alexander McQueen, and many other notable designers followed, including Proenza Schouler, Anna Sui, and Rodarte. The Rodarte collection is currently what is in stores and from March 7- April 11 2010, Jean Paul Gaultier's collection will be available with Zac Posen's collection to follow starting April 25 till May 30. Although some may claim that designer fashion shouldn't be demystified and be more of a fantasy, I disagree. I think making fashion more accessible and denying it of its rarity doesn't make it any less valuable. Both the JPG and Zac Posen collections are youthful, fun and very wearable although I have to say the Zac Posen looks appear to be more high-end and trendy. Especially the red cocktail dress at the end, that I feel is the must-have piece from the collection.
Some of my favorite looks from Jean Paul Gaultier's collection:

Zac Posen's Target creations:
My 2 absolute favorite looks. The red cocktail dress definitely looks expensive and the tuxedo dress is freakin adorable.
