2010 Met Costume Institute Gala: Part I

The Metropolitan's Costume Institute Gala is, in my opinion, THE fashion event of the year. One striking trend this year was neutral, specifically nude-colored, tones. I'm typically not a fan of nude dresses because they allow for very little contrast against most skin tones but when done properly, they can be quite ethereal and lovely. Jennifer Lopez is easily my pick for best dressed last night and her Zuhair Murad sparkling silver dress was heavenly. Here are the other neutral-colored looks:

Anne Hathaway in Valentino
Gwen Stefani in LAMB

Brooke Shields in Michael Kors

Donatella Versace in Versace and Emilie de Ravin

Kate Bosworth in Valentino and Kate Hudson in Stella McCartney

Marion Cotillard in Christian Dior

Riley Keough in Thakoon

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley in Burberry

Sarah Jessica Parker in Halston

Kristen Bell in Diane von Furstenberg and Maggie Grace

Jessica Alba in Sophie Thealett and Jessica Biel in Ralph Lauren

Eva Longoria in Marchesa and Lily Donaldson in Marc Jacobs
